By registering for the Game Fish Tournament or using the gamefishsjds.com website, you accept the terms described in this document. If you do not agree with any of them, please do not complete the registration or participate in the event.
To participate in the tournament you must:
Registration is done through the official form at gamefishsjds.com/en/register. Each vessel can register up to 4 anglers, including the captain when participating as an angler. The organization reserves the right to accept or reject any registration without obligation to explain.
Calcutta registrations — voluntary betting between vessels — are processed separately and are subject to the Calcutta terms published on the site.
The tournament operates under the official rules of the International Game Fish Association (IGFA). Key points are:
Official prizes are awarded during the Awards Ceremony at the end of the tournament. The organization reserves the right to modify the contents of the prizes based on sponsor availability. Prizes are non-transferable, are not exchangeable for cash, and are not delivered after the official ceremony.
Every participant agrees to behave in a sportsmanlike manner, respecting other teams, judges, organizers, and the marine environment. Unacceptable behaviors include — but are not limited to:
The organization may expel any participant who breaches these rules, without refund of registration.
By participating in the tournament, the participant acknowledges that offshore sport fishing involves inherent risks — weather, navigation, handling of heavy equipment, sea conditions — and assumes total responsibility for their personal safety and that of their crew. The organization is not responsible for accidents, injuries, equipment loss, or damage to vessels during the tournament.
Each vessel must hold current marine civil liability insurance, regulatory safety equipment (life jackets, VHF radio, first aid kit, flares), and sufficient fuel for the entire day.
All content published on gamefishsjds.com — including text, images, tournament logo, design, and code — is the property of Game Fish Tournament or used with express authorization. Total or partial reproduction without written consent is prohibited, except for material expressly published in the Press Kit for editorial use.
By participating in the tournament, the participant authorizes the organization to capture, store, and use images (photo and video) of the event — including their person and vessel — for promotional, editorial, and tournament dissemination purposes, without additional compensation. This authorization extends to the official sponsors of the event.
The organization reserves the right to modify dates, schedules, locations, rules, or any other operational aspect of the tournament in response to weather conditions, authority requirements, force majeure, or safety considerations. Changes will be communicated to participants with the greatest possible advance notice.
In case of tournament cancellation due to force majeure (hurricane, health emergency, governmental decision), registrations will be refunded according to the conditions published at the time of registration. The organization is not responsible for travel expenses, accommodation, or other associated costs.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Nicaragua. Any dispute arising from participation in the tournament will be resolved in the competent courts of Rivas, Nicaragua.
